Evolution of Gaming

The Evolution of Gaming is a series of ten cards inspired by The Eames “House of Cards”. The ten, interlocking cards display a variety of video game consoles dating from the 1970s leading into modern-day consoles, all displaying different colors with a halftone effect on cards. The backs of the cards present the anatomy of letters and numbers relating to the consoles.

  • Develop a set of ten cards relating to any subject that also presents typeface anatomy.

  • These cards were a great opportunity to test out the halftone effect since I wanted to make the consoles seem older as typically seen in an older photo. The colors displayed on each card were inspired by the Xbox button colors red, yellow, blue, and green. The cards include both the console and controller.
